WCSD PARENTS BILL OF RIGHTS

Leadership that will listen to parents and honor their right to be involved in their child’s education.

A district that does not consistently place in the bottom of the national rankings year after.
3.
An academic-focused education devoid of politics, divisiveness and unnecessary curricula.
4.
Elected officials and committee members who will set aside personal opinions and represent us.
5.
Open classrooms with access to all teaching materials.
6.
Secure digital devices and software that do not share or store students' private information without parent permission.
7.
School Board and committee meetings that are fair, transparent and accessible.
BATTLE BORN MOMs FOR EDUCATION (BBME)
Battle Born Moms for Education was truly born in battle. We collided into one another week after week at Washoe County School District (WCSD) board meetings while trying to fight the nonsensical curricula and agendas being pushed into our communities. We quickly realized that joining together would create a force greater than ourselves – a true battalion of talented and passionate community members dedicated to change. During the summer of 2021, we formed an official 501c4.
WE ARE THE BOOTS ON THE GROUND FOR WCSD PARENTS
We work tirelessly to educate our community families on WCSD policies, curricula and relevant state laws. Because it is nearly impossible for most busy families to participate in every district meeting or to sort through the confusing district information - we do it. We attend meetings, sort through policy and provide factual and up-to-date information for our battalion families. We highlight those areas of concern and empower all to fight for parental rights, exemplary education and fair representation.
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR FAMILY
We will keep you connected to what is happening in the WCSD. Through our information campaigns and community initiatives we will empower and educate our battalion families and bridge the gap between parents and the district. There is strength in knowledge and numbers. Together, we will will hold the district accountable for the education our children deserve.
