WCSD Needs a Talented and
Qualified Superintendent...STAT!

Superintendent McNeill announced her retirement in September 2021. Her last day is June 30, 2022. Trustee Church has criticized the last superintendent search process in 2019 and 2020 when a firm presented six finalists from a pool of 20 nationwide candidates. The board ended up hiring McNeill, a longtime district employee and interim Superintendent, after the previous Superintendent, Traci Davis, was fired. McNeill wasn't even among the six finalists.
It has been a bumpy few years with no consistent or qualified leader at the helm of WCSD. With test scores suffering and covid fatigue rampant, the stakes are so high for the right candidates to be found, recruited and retained. It is time for real leadership, the right focus and positive change.
At the November 23, 2021 meeting of the Board of Trustees, The Bryan Group was selected as the consultant to facilitate the search for a Superintendent of Schools for the Washoe County School District The Bryan Group will present at future meetings of the Board of Trustees with updates and decision points related to each of the stages of their search process.
