Hot Agenda Items: 11/23/21 Upcoming Board Meeting

We want to help you better understand the upcoming issues the WCSD Board of Trustees will be discussing this week. Take a minute to review these agenda items so that you are prepared to submit a public comment or attend the meeting and make a public comment.



Buckle up for the 11/23/21, 2:00 pm meeting. It is a PACKED agenda with only one more meeting scheduled before the end of the year.


Presentation of Public Bodies of WCSD


3.03 Presentation and discussion of overview of public bodies of the WCSD including support staff, mission and membership as well as meeting schedules.

Bell Schedule Changes


3.04 This is the follow up to the bell schedule changes discussed during the October 26th Board Meeting. The Board voted to approve the change to Option A (which received the most votes in the public survey), pending a discussion and understanding of how this could impact after school activities. Presentation and possible action. We will hear about potential impact to before and after school programming, student activities and athletics with the implementation of “Option A” Bell schedule. This would be for 2022-2023 school year.

Option A:

Elementary School: 9:00 / 9:30 am

Middle School: 8:00 am

High School: 8:30 am

Attendance Zone Changes for Various High School


3.05 Discussion and possible action to approve attendance zone changes for McQueen HS, Reno HS,Swope MS, Billinghurst MS, Roy Gomm ES and Verdi ES.

Paying Money To TeachThe WCSD Board To Better Work Together


3.06 Discussion and possible action on how the Trustees can learn to compromise and work better together. They may decide to pay tax payer money to hire a coach for professional development and team building. A prime example of how broken the Board has been was the Jeff Church Censure Meeting.

Update on Supplemental Social Justice Curriculum Taskforce


3.07 Remember social media and the decision to create a task force to create and implement supplemental curriculums ? We finally get to hear a report on the Superintendent's committee and what it has been up to in regards to social justice in the classroom. Next Steps will be presented.

Covid Policy Revisit


3.08 Revisit the Covid mitigation efforts by the district.
