Summary of 11/9/21 Regular Meeting of the WCSD Board of Trustees

4.06 Discussion and Possible Action regarding former Trustee Calvert’s residency investigation.

The Board directed the Superintendent to continue the agreement with the Gunderson Law Firm to further investigate (additional interviews and questions) former Trustee Clavert’s residency violation. The Board also voted that there be an independent review of the legal matters (votes, compensation and health insurance) related to serving as a Trustee while not living in the district they were elected to serve.

4.07 Revisiting the district's current COVID-19 policies and mitigation efforts.

Covid-19 testing of student-athletes was discussed. Approximately 15,000 student-athletes have been tested this school year. A total of 104 have tested positive.

TMCC High School and AACT school which attend classes on Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) campuses may require students to comply with NSHE vaccination protocols beginning Spring semester 2022. Superintendent McNeil will have more information by next board meeting. This is a standing agenda item to review bi-monthly.
