Today's Hot Agenda Items: 2/8/22 WCSD Regular Board Meeting

We want to help you better understand the upcoming issues the WCSD Board of Trustees will be discussing this week. Take a minute to review these agenda items so that you are prepared to submit a public comment or attend the meeting and make a public comment.

Consent Agenda Items

2.06 - Board Policy 9500: Discussing the process when a Trustee moves to ensure their still eligible to serve the district they were elected to. (This is to ensure the whole Jacqueline Calvert debacle doesn't happen again.) Final Approval. No public comments were submitted during the 13 day public review period.

Items for Presentation, Discussion and/or Action

3.01- Update from The Bryan Group regarding the search for a new superintendent. Perhaps they will make available the full list of community stakeholders who have been selected to serve in the search advisory group.

3.06 - Presentation and discussion of WCSD role as sponsors for Charter Schools. There are seven total Charter Schools in Washoe county.

3.07 Response to Recovery/Strategic Bridge Plan: Measurable outcomes for Goal 3:

Goal 3.1 - Strengthen inclusive two-way communication and community engagement in order to foster authentic relationships and recover trust. WCSD's idea of building trust and “authentic relationships” was to increase social media engagement by 5%, quarterly MEDIA tours and events and enhance communications for district employees.

Goal 3.3 - Strengthen strategic Trustee community partnerships including stakeholders, constituents and schools. This goal includes Trustee attendance at Board meetings, school visits by Trustees, Trustees response to constituents, Trustee attendance at both community and school sponsored events, recognize volunteers and increase Trustee visibility.
